Loddon is a small market town about 12 miles southeast of Norwich on the River Chet, a tributary of the River Yare within The Broads in Norfolk, England. The name "Loddon" is thought to mean muddy river in Celtic in reference to the Chet.

I just moored the yot near the confluence of the river Loddon and Thames. Wargrave marshes. Nice place.
The original place for Loddon Lillies also known as Summer Snowflake they are like large snowdrops. Very pleasant.

Here's a challenge for MM Try navigating down St Patricks Stream and then the River Loddon Interesting little jaunt. I've been up the Loddon as far as the junction but got stopped by weed and river flow.

I have done that in a manually propelled kayak years ago. I should probably have a little cruise up the Loddon from beside shiplake lock on the yellow floating solar electric beer drinking platform some time. I'll need the weed cutting prop for that and not expecting to get far but always pleasant to check out the backwaters. I did Hennerton backwater a few weeks ago but was rudely interrupted by an overexcited woman helping a farmer get a cow out. Very unrelaxing. Trad boat rally next weekend at Henley Both the canoes I will have with me this summer are electric conversions so a bit risky to do anything with excess shallowness as it might take the prop off. I could remove the prop on the inboard electric kayak to be fair which would make it a standard paddle kayak. But I'm too lazy.

Pubs dear so moved to the seaside with a train station Spoons and a relatively inexpensive pub nearby. Mouse is now becoming Suffolkated.

I must admit I didn’t look past the picture of the pump clip naughtyfox posted - I didn’t realise he had googled Loddon. Many many good memories of boating around that area with mouse and a motley bunch of rag tag boaters, we ended up being honorary locals rather than grockles - some of the tales would make yer hair stand on end and those of delicate disposition blush at the very least 👍😜🍻

How am I supposed to know there's a stupid brook called the Loddon feeding the Thames?
I saw the beer sign and thought Loddon might like it. Ungrateful twat.
