I have never liked "legs" In my mind it just adds a whole new layer of complexity to an engine turning an egg whisk

I had the thought ao converting to shaft. Aswell as other modifications to the shell. We will not go there lol Any of you have a rough idea on cost to convert it. Myself that is. Using the Merc engine. I guess it be a UJ type joint from G box to prop shaft then new porp aswwll. And the thing in the hull that the shaft goes through.

shaft log and a P bracket would be needed.
I expect you could find the parts for an onboard conversion on eBay but you'd also need a rudder and mounting arrangement plus putting in a shaft drive onboard would result in a loss of accommodation space because it would have to be further forward.

I was going to/thinking extend the rear cabin, if i did that would help with space.
And a thought of today, the Z is meant to be in great running order ( so they say ) so mite aswell just keep it and look after it and be careful not to knacker it, i hear they get damaged easy with bottoming out on rocks etc.
