What are the odds on this boat having been nicked by the coves who keep an unidentifiable - no name or Index no. displayed - black/dark blue painted, 18'-20', outboard day boat in the area, and only ever move about between dusk and dawn ? One of them was arrested and charged with stealing a narrowboat locally only about a couple of weeks back, but as far as I know he was released on bail shortly after being charged. Whoever has half-inched the Viking cruiser from Beeston won't have been able to get far. With the state of the Trent at the moment, the Flood gates are 'on' in Cranfleet Cut and at Mill Bridge in Newark Dyke, so they, or at least the boat, must be somewhere in that length of river and canal between the two set of Flood gates, . . the first place to start looking would be along Beeston Cut where it passes along by Boot's site and factory, then behind the scrapyards at Dunkirk and finally the stretch along to Meadow Lane.

I hope the boat is found undamaged and the thieves arrested...
