Ive only seen a couple too.
My mate is a sound technician and is away all summer working gigs and festivals. I've lost count of the amount of videos he has sent

Too many to mention. Used to go and see bands in Manchester, also a good few festivals over the years. Sometimes got closer to the action, as it were, roadying with my Merc 306 for the local PA company. Eg for Tony Wilson's So It Goes programme with several punk/new wave bands. Boom town rats, Mink De Ville, the Damned, Captain Sensible etc. I had several years working part time (well most of the time actually 'cos there was not much else around at the time) for a sound and lighting company doing a lot of big corporate gigs. Both nationally and internationally. Got to see a lot of big named artists mostly doing cabaret. Later on was also roadying for two or three London function bands, often doing the dancing following the cabaret. My friend who owned the Sound company died of a heart attack at a much too young age. Those of us who formed the basis of his crew did a few gigs after, enabling his widow to recoup some of the money tied up in it (Nobody could really take it over as it was based so much around him) We had one prestigious job coming up and we jointly decided that it was a good "High point" to finish with. We took virtually every bit of kit we could, way above what was being paid for and put on an absolutely top show ..... the headline act was Phil Collins. That was the last proper gig I did although I went with my wife when she did a few pub gigs in the East End but she was fed up with the scene by then and usually turned them down. She used to say..... there were too many so called musicians out there who had been booked by the venue to back her who couldn't read the parts and couldn't busk. They could just bang out a few songs that they knew .... but could only play those in one key.

I still enjoy the theatrical stuff, I do a bit of everything, sound and light, stage tec, devising the show with others, performing. Last weekend took a big 6m trapeze rig up to Burnley, ran a circus workshop and trapeze tasters, sat in the van while it rained, did a bit more when it stopped, dropped the rig and packed up in the rain. Great craic. Got another gig the same, this Saturday in Rochdale centre. No rest for the wicked!

Small strains and sprains that you used to get over in 48 hours started taking a week. My consumption of ibuprofin increased By my late fifties I realised that my body just couldn't cope with it any more. There is nothing more ridiculous than being "the oldest roadie on the circuit" There was a cartoon doing the rounds years ago of a roadies funeral. Showing a speeding Ford Cargo with the roller shutter up and the crew with a mummified in Gaffa tape body of a roadie (you could tell it was a roadie by the fag pack gaffered to the upper arm) launching him over the tailgate as they passed Watford Gap Services. Didn't fancy hanging on for that
