Funnily enough Ive just started reading a copy of 1984. Reading it in school all those years ago it seemed a ridiculous concept............. The bit he got wrong is he had the government forcing monitoring on to a resentful public, whereas we choose to carry a personal tracker, with all are personal details freely given to social media companies whilst our conversations are listened to by various smart devices.

Just the thing for the Wigan flight. 1) No need to chain up paddles for anti-vandalism purposes, the cameras will identify them when they are in the area. 2) The cameras will identify those who do not need or want assistance, allowing the volunteers to concentrate on those or do, or relaxy at the hut eating pies, updating facebook pages Win win for every one at Wiganπ

This geyser knew his shit He definately was ahead of his time. The really worrying thing about this issue, is that it's a development company introducing this technology without paying any attention to the data protection laws. Where are the authorities that are supposed to protect the rights of the public?

" Privacy groups have voiced concerns about the implications of facial recognition on privacy rights.
"Facial recognition is nothing like CCTV - it's not an accurate comparison," said Stephanie Hare, an independent researcher and tech commentator.
"It allows us to be identified and tracked in real time, without our knowledge or our informed consent.
"We recognise the power of DNA and fingerprints as biometrics and their use is governed very strictly under UK law. We do not apply the same protections and restrictions to face, yet it is arguably even more powerful precisely because it can be taken without our knowledge." "
