Yes. The majority voted to leave the EU. No mention of a deal was on the voting slip. What you are seeing is the result of everyone’s democratic right to vote.

You have to laugh, all those MPs who have for the past years been doing everything they can to circumvent democracy crying that this is undemocratic.

So it's democratic that a number of mp's continuously block the referendum instruction to parliament??? Basically the people got it wrong and must be made to vote again, and if they get it wrong again, then vote again.......... An interesting idea of democracy.

BTW, I went over to the other side (to gloat) and found that Denial has hidden the political thread. I wonder why?
Joking aside, I really don’t understand why so many people want to ban political discussions when all they need to do is not read posts in threads titled ‘politics’.
How does banning open discussion fit the democratic process? Isn’t that more like dictatorship?

Queen Victoria prorogued Parliament in person regularly between 1837 and 1854, after which she ceased to attend, allegedly because she disliked the ceremony.
This was the last occasion on which the Sovereign prorogued Parliament or gave the Royal Assent in person, and was also the last time the Speaker made a speech at prorogation.
Back to the Victorian era then...
God Save The Queen Boris!

Can you explain how leaving the EU without a deal (by whatever mechanism) is not democratic?

Didn't think it was worth explaining my support for Parliamentary Democracy... I kind of agree that having a referendum in a parliamentary democracy was a very stupid thing to do, and was only done because they were utterly confident of getting the result they wanted which would subsequently retrieve the right wing vote from ukip at the next GE. But it's done, hindsight is a wonderful thing but time travel is not possible. Deal or no deal is irrelevant, there was no mention of this in the referendum. The conservative gov screwed everything up for selfish political reasons. Tough. Edit to add: And they're still doing it, they now see that if they don't get us out pronto, their vote will be split in the next general election and god help us the liberals might win. The Tories still winging for a deal is more smoke and mirrors for the electorate. They don't give a monkeys for anything or anybody or the state of the country, they ONLY care about power.

Maybe not in the actual referendum but plenty in the campaign stuff. Anyway time for me to get soaked in the rain - wouldn't want to overstay my mooring times and get fined by those CRT dictators...

Our whole democracy set up is based upon 'winner does not take all' - I like it like that.
