Log in using my name, . . could make the CWDF site, or the snivelling little git that owns it, go into total meltdown !! Letting someone Log-in using your name - Depending on what they post could result in a ban for a thousand years. So the same as kris then!

How do bans actually work?
I'm sure it has been discussed before but I can't remember how they identify you.

Of course you can view posts if you are not logged in. Minor issue is that most people tick the “keep me logged in” option, which leaves a cookie on your computer that logs you in each time you visit. So when you are banned, the cookie still tries to log you in but you are banned so can’t even read posts. Clearing your cookies and cache will then allow you to read posts even if you are banned.

I don't think that can be the case otherwise people would just set up new accounts. Surely. Like that stamp collector geyser.

Ask Ricco, for one! And Jenlyn. Oh no, you can’t ask him because he ran off sobbing (or was he expunged?).

OK I thought the banning went further than just user name and password. That's why I was wondering how it worked.
So if Kris has been told his ban is lifted all he actually has to do is re-register with a new username ("kris" for example) and login and use the forum.
No problems.

If you click view it goes through to the account as normal.

All was well until MJG snitched on me, resulting in Gareth E also being banned. My current reincarnation must remain secret, unfortunately, our resident snitch may be watching.

Surprising I haven't been banned then. Probably comes down to most folk having better things to do than inspect forums for potential sock puppets, then report them.

Well actually I would not have to be banned myself in order to report your puppet. I however have better things to do than create a puppet on there just in order to report you, and it would be rather hypocritical to create a puppet in order to report a puppet. Im sure a psychologist could explain why some people feel the need to create them. My explanation for reporting you is however easily explained. I just dont like you. Simple.

The difference is, if I don't like someone, I don't feel the need to report them to 'authority', should the opportunity to do so arise. It's surprising that this wasn't kicked out of you, when you were at school.
