That's interesting. My inspection launch is 9ft wide but in your head-on photo that boat looks narrow. I guess it's a photograph effect.
Nice bit of firewood anyway.

The cabin looks narrow, but the decks/gunwales are generous, typical of broads boats of that era. The hull looks wide even in the head on pic.

There is a "woodpecker" on the boat list built by Creighton's registered on the broads. 8ft beam.
Did creightons do wooden boats ?

I thought this was going to be another Brexit thread... Whats a Woodpecker got to do with the B word?...(I'm trying not to taint the thread) It is a lovely looking boat In the southern United States a woodpecker, the yellow-shafted flicker (see flicker), is often called yellowhammer, on account of its drumming.

Broads cruiser ? It looks suspiciously narrow to me. Boats of that ilk are around 9ft IIR. Phil

Came across this stunning little boat at Sutton Staithe. Woodpecker is a very nicely restored ex broads hire boat built in 1957. The guy with the very large grin (justifiably) is the guy who restored her. A lovely little boat. Well, while I've been out boating I've missed this lovely boat. It's a smasher!
