I want one of those things that prints what you require out onto sticky labels. Labels maybe 10 mm wise and as long as you need it to be. Not just sticky paper but quite thickish plastic type material. Any ideas please?

I have a proper label making machine that I use for my fibre optic work, white plastic tape background with black lettering adhesive on backside... if you pm what you want printing( presuming it’s not the encyclopaedia Britannica!) I can do them on 9mm, 12mm 18 or 24 mm tape and post them to you!👍 Mines a Brother P touch, linked to my laptop cost approx £75 and tapes £9 a cassette👍

Search for Label Printer then select one that meets your requirements. If AndyB's kind offer isn't what you require.

Yes dymo is the thing with the embossed letters in plastic.
I have found that some of the tape fr the dymo has crap adhesive possibly due to age.
Brother make good ones as well which are more sticky but less cool if look at.
I really like the old dymo stuff.

I can do any typeface / font with mine, frame it or pretty much anything you want, also passes quality audits by Huawei, Nokia& Cisco, there’s none affordably better! 👍 Dymo... Welcome to the 1970’s boys!😂

Special thanks to Andy. However, I need to have one of my own. Dymo was the word I was looking for, thanks to all that answered.

Agreed but dymo tape labels are one of the coolest things that ever existed on earth. These ones (image from Wikipedia) The Brother ones are considerably better from a technical point of view but there is nothing cool about them. Dymo tape labels are really wicked.

I have it on good authority, from my undercover work trying to infiltrate the UK internet with Huawei, that fibres marked with dymo tape are general ‘google / daily mail’ type carriers, whereas fibres mark with brother labels are the choice ‘armed forces / Banking / politicians web browsing history’ carriers. Make of that what you will!

They were crap in the seventies and still are I would guess ... even my Grandad threw his away.
@someboater is maybe mixing up 'coolest' with some other adjective ... caption competition?

The Brother label makers are fine and not very expensive ..... but would not advise using the metalic style label tapes as they seem to be less stable than the plain types (even the basic models do a choice of typefaces)
