"Glad to hear shitting in a box is working for you."
Tomsk, when you order your coffin, it will be a wooden box, and will bring you fond memories of these comments you have made about Kris's innovative design. Let's hope no one has pooed in it first, eh?!!

So tomsk where are the threads where you've brought anything interesting to the board. Your posts always seem to be sarcastic comments about other members posts?

I suggest you check this site out for more info www.offgriddesigns.co.ukKris...I've viewed the above site and one question I can't seem to find the answer to ... Where exactly do you store these buckets of composting shite as it says they should be composted for a couple of years before using on crops

Thats the reason I can store 12months worth, it's reccommended to compost for a coupe of years if your using on edible crops. But it actually composts a lot quicker. Some people including peterboat of this parish have access to on shore compost heaps. I'm trying to be able to contain the whole process on board, one advantage of not having a narrowboat. There's a lot more info on the Facebook page associated with that site.

Deriding your appalling cardboard shitting box is a worthwhile use of my time. How are the odour issues and is the base holding up, has it not gone a bit soggy? Additionally, are you still constantly moored and if so how are other towpath users getting on with negotiating the steaming midden you are creating?

Thats the reason I can store 12months worth! I presume you use a sawdust type of composting material...could the compost not be compressed after a few months using one of those newspaper compressor tools you see advertised and made into brickette type of thing for burning on your stove?

Yes compacting into bricketts and burning would be an option, what your chimney would smell like I don't know. My intention is to make a "wood gasifier" and run an engine off the output. But we'll see, not having to plan my cruising around visiting elsan points is a big advantage that I already enjoy.

Just a quick question Kris. When you've had a dodgy curry, and a skinful of Ye Olde Gutblaster Best ale the night before, and you're shitting through the eye of needle the next morning. Will your loo, deal with the runny poo?
