I went to Liverpool this year, I booked up online, others have booked up using the phone. It is when you actually get there that the numbering system falls down. It would seem that who ever does the internet booking is using a different map sheet than the person doing the phone booking. So what booking you have may be taken up by someone else! It was also clear that CRT say that they are fully booked up, but when you enter the Docks you will see lots of empty berths! Can I suggest you don't use the S10 berth as it is right where the winds will blow and makes that berth a very lea shored berth and you may have difficulty getting back off of it! Have fun, i did and will go again next year if i can! Nipper I asked a lockie working that area about the empty berths. He told me some boats don’t turn up at all and some leave early. Great place isn’t it.

Maybe they just watch how many come in but are lax on who leaves when? Good there though isn’t it😀

We were there in May 2015 the week before 'The three Queens' visited.
Every mooring was full, and C&RT were taking bookings for Eldon village which was also fully booked.
So it can be booked up fully ... for whatever reasons I suggest C&RT choose not to.

When we first went in 2014,there weren't any bins-you took your black bags to the end of the pontoon each morning ready for them to be picked up. It was the same when I was there this year too, just put your black bags at the end of the pontoon in the morning and by the evening they had mysteriously disappeared. I moved onto an adjacent pontoon when I was there as the pontoon I had booked didn't have a water tap and I only have a short water hose, if anyone had rocked up and complained that I was on their spot I would have moved, but nobody did. Salthouse Dock and Liverpool itself are fantastic destinations for a narrowboater, I will definitely go again.

I'm sure you're right ... but I was referring to the P&O Three Queens ... but you knew that. We went back in by train and couldn't believe the hundreds of thousands of people who rocked up to view three cruise liners. We also visited Crosby to see Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place' figures ... the entire beach was full of thousands of people. I was stunned by the turn out just to view three ships. Rog

Yes, astonishing, particularly as cruise ships don't even have any hub caps to steal.

Good there though isn’t it😀 Yes, It's a great place to visit, especially if the Festival of the Sea is in the harbour with all the square riggers and nautical entertainments, with the added bonus of Liverpool won something and the parade with thousands of suporters were right by us Magic!

Thanks all - the map makes it useful... given I might have folks on who would struggle down a gunwale, S 1 or S 10 look the best bet.
