i expect it was womens hockey that you where watching, for some strange reason. Same game isn't it? Or is the men's version better? I think you suffer a more severe risk of wrist injuries watching the women's game.

Enjoying how the Japanese play their rugby. Very exciting. After watching the delightful Nicola on the Andrew Marr show earlier I am right behind her. Scotland out! 😀

I don't know why I bothered as it was rubbish but I got up this morning to watch the Japanese grand prix, I was expecting a nice wet race which would have made it intresting.
However I could not believe it had bright blue skys, not a cloud in the sky.

Just watched Japan v Scotland having come home from work.
What a superb game ... the best of the tournament so far ... one of the best World Cup games I can recall.
No disgrace to lose to that Japanese side ... utterly relentless ... superb control and ball skills.
If South Africa try to 'bully' them in the quarter final I fear they will come unstuck.

Rog I picked the right game then - it's the only game I've seen right through so far! I almost believed Scotland would make a successful come back during the first 15 minutes of the second half... It's hard being half Scot but never mind, I'm half English too.

Big weekend of rugby coming up ... looking forward to all four games. Wouldn't it be terrific if England, Ireland and Wales got through to the semi finals. Wondered if anyone cared to make any predictions? 1. England v Australia 8.15am Saturday I hope for an England win rather than expect one ... the Aussies are a dangerous attacking team. 2. Ireland v New Zealand 11.15am Saturday I hope for an Ireland win ... they've beat them before, but NZ are not the holders by luck. 3. Wales v France 8.15am Sunday I expect a Welsh win ... France have brilliant individuals but struggle as a team. 4. Japan v South Africa 11.15am Sunday I would love to see Japan play to their potential and win but South Africa I fear will not be caught out again. Four terrific games in prospect and who knows which teams goes through. I expect/hope for ... England v Ireland Wales v South Africa Rog ETA Yes I know ... I'm a dreamer

My only hope is that the whole thing is over as quickly as possible, with so little publicity that it might as well not exist

I get it ... you don't like rugby Clinton Cool. I would have thought even you would grasp what this thread was about so you could perhaps ignore it ... as you don't like rugby. Rog

Backing the favourite's always a good ploy ... but I have a sneaking suspicion Ireland may knock them out ... so I'll take that bet Rog

Brilliant game between two good teams.
Australia were dangerous throughout and it certainly didn't feel like a 40 point hammering.
England's defence was spectacularly good ... Australia tried to run it from everywhere which gave us the edge.
What chances we had, we scored.
Come on Ireland !
