There are some numptys on the water. Im sat in doors and i feel a clunk as a boat makes contact with my boat. So i poked my head out ofthe hatch to see whats happening. A narrowboat is reversing into the space infront of me, hes made contact with my boat and from the angle his boat is at its obvious hes going to contact again. So i just said to him (politely) your going to hit again, he proceeded to scrape the whole length of his boat down one spot on my boat. Ffs. Fair enough he said sorry, but if you cant get into a space without hitting the boats near it then moor somewhere else. The thing that really annoys me, is if id done the same to them id be public enemy number one. Anyway rant over. Well to be honest it doesn’t sound anything more than a bit irritating. I think your boat is tough enough to take it! What pissed me off in Stratford was a hire boat with a twat on the front with cabin shaft, poking and prodding other boats as they tried to turn round in the basin. Now I wouldn’t mind if it was below the gunnels, but he was poking his pole against our expensive sign writing half way up the cabin sides. I explained to him that the paint job cost about £8000 and it would be a pity if we had to get it done again. I think he got the message. I did think of following him back to the hire base and prodding his car paintwork with our shaft to see how he liked it, but in the end couldn’t be bothered. Arnt you supposed to be watching strictly?

After I’ve been fed I’ll disappear off to the caravan to watch it from under the duvet on BBC iPlayer.

Secret Strictly, indeed! - doesn't Jeff approve of that particular guilty pleasure then?!! met x No Jeff is right into it too. We have tickets for the live show in Birmingham again this January. But Jeff is down on the boat and no doubt watched it live, whilst I’m up here in the Highlands busy with my daytime activities. Anyway, there is more than one reason to be under the duvet...

Back to boats,an Anderton hire boat hit ours at speed when we were moored in Moore this summer. His excuse was that they were feeding the swans & weren't looking. The wife had a real go at me when I said I wasn't impressed(gobby 🐄).As I walked towards her to have a subtle word, she disappeared inside the boat.Luckily,no visible damage, but boy it was loud & made the earth(canal) move for me...
