Your constant praise of Tesla has driven me to visit autotrader to see what is for sale, second hand wise. Two things struck me immediately. One that they are very expensive. Secondly, they look very bland, both inside and out. They look rather cheaply finished, switch gear in particular. Not a car that I look at and think I’d love one of those. They could use a new stylist. Ian if possible have a go in a Model s P100D they are very very good, you have ridden motorbikes these beasties are quick like a big motorbike is Wasn’t questioning there performance. Was more that the aesthetics do little for me. I drive/ride vehicles that stir my soul a little. Gotta be fun to use and sexy to look at. Oh.. and a good exhaust beat helps as well.

Possibly not a well known fact but the Tesla model designation was originally intended to be S E X Y But the E became a 3 when they found problems with Ford having already registered the "Model E" trademark. All the other ones have succeeded. Model S, model X and the upcoming model Y. But no E. A bit like the Apple trademark where someone has already had a bite of the fruit. I find Tesla's quite bland, unexciting and overly flash. they go like shit off a bland shovel perhaps. At the end of the day the bloke is a salesman. He's selling cars.

I think the Model S is a really good looking car and I love the interior but thats how it is, if we were all the same it would be a boring old world. I was out in my Aixam mega truck today, its pug ugly but I love it just so much fun and it cost nowt to run, tomorrow I am collecting wood with it, couple of loads of logs from a mates garden, his apple tree died so its being recycled, the truck is so small it can get into his back garden, brilliant thing it is

Patty if you are still serious about an electric car have you looked at the new MG. They are at least affordable.
Of course yes they are Chinese and only MG in name. But they have 7 years warranty and getting some good reviews.

But they have 7 years warranty and getting some good reviews. We rented an MG 6 for a few days four years ago. It was the worst car I've ever driven. I would not touch another Chinese MG again. That was from Manchester Airport. Our next car a week later was from Birmingham Airport, same company (Hertz, as I recall) and on 'requests' I wrote not an MG thank you and when we got to the desk they asked why not and I said because they are shit AND dangerous and they shouldn't even be renting death traps. They said point taken, and gave us a Nissan Qashqi with which we were quite happy. "The MG is going away. It’s not a great car. In far too many ways, it’s not even a good car. This might explain why they seem to have sold about seven, all to hardcore MG enthusiasts who have a broken B in the garage and spend most of their time on the internet moaning about bits of their 6 that have gone wrong." sniffpetrol.com/2015/11/20/a-week-with-an-mg6/

Yes Foxy, I explained it wasnt a 'proper' MG.
Some people reckon that Nissan is a pile of crap too.
Hey ho, but as its not electric your contribution is as usual a pile of pointless crap.

If the environment is a consideration when considering buying an electric car the best bet, if you already have a car that works, is to scrap the idea of buying an electric car and stick with what you have. You need to drive a petrol/ diesel car for 20 years at average mileage to create as much pollution as is created by the process of manufacturing and scrapping a car.

Which leads to the obvious that a person should only own one car and not change it to often.

You wouldn't need to change much at all of a car, if all the parts were easily removeable and repairable/serviceable. The body and windows and wheels could go on for a hundred years.

Previous was 1968, before that 1974, 1975. They are all still on the road with all parts still available, many thanks to the Chinese being interested in small markets.
