I have a 14 inch long gash in my cratch cover which I want to repair. I've successfully used super glue in the past to stick repair patches on, decent repairs still going strong 2 years later but they were small repairs. Super glue is a pain, need to somehow hold everything together for a few minutes without gluing yourself to the cover.
Any recommendations?

I've found the Gorilla range to be excellent.
I used their 'gel strips mounting tape' to stick magnets to the bottom of the cratch, and after all four seasons (occasionally very hot, often very wet, and sometimes very cold) they're still in place.
I'm sure a grown up will be along with a better suggestion soon.

I'm reasonably ashamed to admit that the gash is due to over vigorous rubbing, trying to get dirt and mildew off.

I think it's PVC but not sure. Something plasticy, definitely not canvas. Found a tube of Uhu, wonder if that might do the job?

I think it's nackered if it splits so easily.
Sun has got to it probably. I suppose it's worth trying to bodge it up to get through the winter.

Take it to a small transport company and bung the fitter a blue beer voucher to repair it with a patch and a hot seam roller, such as is done when the pikeys have cut an "Italian window" in a curtainsided trailer while it was parked up for the night.

I reckon patching is the way to go cos then you can attach larger patches than the tear which will provide strength to other weak points. You could get years out of it by patchwork effect onto original
