Ok. So I had to buy the unusual steel boat.
It's wicked.
Every detail has been thought through to such a fine level is a little bit ridiculous and makes you giggle.
There is even a little dashboard type indicator lamp to show if you have left the lights on in the toilet compartment.
This boat should be in an art gallery !
I'm going to settle for it being in water and used for boating. I expect it will be okay !

A little surprisingly it has 6ft headroom in the saloon/wheelhouse, over 6ft in the front cabin and over 6ft in the shower area.
Apparently the bloke who built it also did a stainless steel narrow boat at some stage.
Too many features to get them on a list but everywhere you look there are things which just indicate attention to detail and user friendliness.
Really nice. If I could only have one boat it would be this one.

Have you checked the air draft? On the small photo you posted with a chap standing on the deck with his head approximately level with the top, he'd have to have 6ft legs to reach the waterline.

Firewood drawer. Kindling in the little section at the front so you can light the fire without pulling the whole drawer our then main firewood store behind. Separated. The fire is bullet proof 8mm steel all welded with a coal grate as well.

I'm not that bothered about that as it's not going far into the cut anyway. It's a bit deep for the cut as well. Intended for the Thames mainly. ETA it's as "wet boat" the decks all have large scuppers with rubber flaps on outside so water can drain overboard fast. Like a trawler. It's basically a trawler in design terms.

Indeed, that's what the cranes/arms are for. I was chased by one once, they set a collision course for entertainment knowing they have right of way when the nets are out. Grrr… Looks like a lovely boat at a bargain price.

We have logs in a box near the stove, and kindling in the same box. And coal in another box next to the wood box. Forward planning, y'see!

Transport arranged for Friday delivery to Reading then initial river trials on non tidal fill diesel and water tanks then have a trip down through the Pool of London relaxing comfortably.
Been on it all day today everywhere I look there are good ideas it just "works".
Engines fired up no problems nice and smooth. Engine room is incredible it's like new. Dry bilges. Chain and rod steering to both rudders. Spare rudder bearings.
Ground tackle locker accessible from the inside the fo'cstle so you don't have to be on deck to deploy anchor.
It really is like a ship which has been put in a miniaturising device. No kidding. It's amazing.
Will need some general sorting but it's a most pleasant item.

My post from "interesting boats" thread. I quite like this apolloduck.net/61060532x10ft Steel Twin BMC 1.8 Accomodation cabin £12k Looks nice and "Boaty". I specially like the lifeboat style forward cabin. Those were the advert pictures. It's out of water at the moment.
