Really weird happenings over the last couple of days. On Wednesday evening I started to feel slight then moderate pain when I bit down on one tooth, an upper one on the left side, towards the back. Within a few hours this got much worse and the pain spread, all my teeth were hurting, my lips felt numb and I had a belting headache on the left side. This carried on until this morning. I've taken lots of ibuprofen and paracetamol but these barely touched the pain, I'd hardly been able to sleep at all. This morning, while contemplating an emergency visit to the dentist the pain in my teeth started to ease. A few hours on 95% of it has gone but I'm left with a headache and runny nose, cold- like symptoms. Anyone ever had similar, any ideas what's going on? Might be an abscess below a tooth, even if the pain reduces it will still be there. Best get it checked unless you are happy it isn’t. I have had one and it can be agony in the jaw. some symptoms for you to compare against. www.nhs.uk/conditions/dental-abscess/
