Since when? Oil (engine and gearbox) changed 4 times on our 2-week trip And the stated service interval is....? In my book: any time I want. Every day, sometimes, when we're driving the boat. It amuses me.

One wonders if this thread has been affected by the demon drink.... good morning all..another day looms on planet earth... we have an election to discuss or not.... Yes it has been affected by the demon drink - not enough of it to render the protagonists unconscious before quite so much boring drivel was uttered!

Greta is sneaking up on you with a pair of secateurs, for wanton and profligate use of the planets resources. You aren't that far away, she can get to you, greenly, by bike, in fact you could accommodate her while she does the deed.

I think it's called sense of humour, all the funnier because one of the participants doesn't have one. OK having read to the end of the thread I now see...

And, knowing this, you expect anyone to take your technical advice on using a piece of equipment that by your own admission you have never used, nor have any idea of how to use, nor even watched the entirety of a drivelling and interminable yootoob vid on the subject that you offer as proof of your technical ability? Dear lord. PS because your sump seems to have a quite small capacity, I would be tempted to reduce the service interval too. I reckon about 150 hours or one year, whichever is sooner. I expect that would be the year.

Dear lord. PS because your sump seems to have a quite small capacity, I would be tempted to reduce the service interval too. I reckon about 150 hours or one year, whichever is sooner. I expect that would be the year. I don't think I said that, I think I said watch these videos about the use of multimeters by this bloke, they are really rather good. Not at all drivelling and interminable. Our engine holds 1.6 litres of engine oil, and I can usually get about 850ml out of it each time I suck it up the dipstick tube. I am more than happy to continue in my method, believing that an engine swimming in nice, clean, golden oil will last much longer than pistons grinding up and down in carbon-particles-saturated black oil. I think the fact is you're jealous of my vitality and performance because you are a lazy git who just can't be bothered to maintain your engine properly. Just counted roughly - I reckon our yearly hours of engine running for the year June 2019 to June 2020 comes out at around 422 hours. Is that a little or a lot? Anyway, we are one of the few boats actively engaged in going all round the country, and have been doing that for the past 5 years without serious mishap or mechanical or electrical failures.
