Just put on a couple of grammes so am upping his food . Not sure on the sex but have settled on Harry for his/it's/her name. Probably a boy as he was stupid enough to get scooped up, any other hoglet worth it's salt would have legged it when it saw the dogs on leads approaching with something with a head torch on full beam . I had to park the dogs them go back for it. Anyway he is doing OK for the .moment Phil the wrangler aka Flappy

Been re-reading the thread and quite liked the title of Hedgehog Hero Harry is doing OK and has gained a bit more weight, now is 210gms. Surprised at how much time he takes up so respect to all the Hedgehog Rescue places that care for dozens of hogs , they're hardly cuddly little things are they ? Phil

Lovely thread, keep the fox out before he spoils it.
When weighing hedgehogs you have to allow for the loss in weight due to the evacuation of the fleas.
We used to save them until Mrs objected to the fleas running all over them.
I heard cat food was considered to be a hog delicacy.

Would imagine you can treat the fleas now..these rescues must cos otherwise the hog lets wouldn't thrive as they do

phil70If you go to your original post and click edit you can change the title to Hedgehog Hero if you want to this platform allows that whereas some others don't. Just in case you didn't know..

I 'spose 'Hedgehog Hero' is better than 'Hedgehog Fiddler'. We have had a hedgehog (same one?) some Summers sneaking round our verandah door, they like crunching cat biscuits, and they like a saucer of milk. As for stroking them, their tummy is soft, isn't it? They eat earthworms, so dig a few of those up, eh?

UPDATE ON HARRY.....HE ESCAPED!!!! Harry resides in a stout cardboard box but he has been a bit norty and has been splashing his water around. This meant it ran to a corner and unseen by me he had been nibbling a hole under cover of the shredded paper bedding. Checked on him lunchtime only to find he had legged it. No problem as the cupboard is brick constructed so I methodically removed the contents till it was empty, no sign of him. This worried me so I set about checking all the various plastic carrier bags which held the Xmas decorations . I eventually found him tucked up in a bag of tinsel, how festive. I decided to house him in a plastic box which held some of my tools, he was not happy about this but his incarceration though a little harsh is infinitely better than the alternative which is slow starvation followed by death Phil

Are you going to adopt him?
Not sure what the legal framework would be but you might be able to get a form from the post office in the morning.
