Did you get them to do the dung sample ? Simple, I just scooped a little sausage up into a plastic container and presented it to them. That was all my involvement. Phil

For those that are interested, I've had 'Arry in the bucket and onto the scales, now weighing in at 618gms. He is growing exponentially and has gone from a little ball of spikes nestled in my hand to what seems a massive bruiser needing 2 hands. He must be going stir crazy but it's not for long now and far better than the alternative. Phil

You've done a grand job. Years ago hubby dug out a fence post and didn't think to fill in the hole straight away. Yep, you guessed it, next morning we found a young hedgehog barely alive at the bottom of the hole.
We phoned the hedgehog trust and they gave us their best advice, we tried to rehydrate it and kept it warm but it was too late - we felt horribly guilty for a long time.
Well done you.

Latest weigh in shows 'arry is now getting a porky weight of 677gms, a 50g increase on last week. When he first got weighed at 194g he was able to wander around in the bucket on the scales but now he more or less fills the bucket with his bum up against the wall of the bucket and his snout against the other side. He chunters away when I feed and clean him out, he sniffs my fingers. Chris reckons he is sussing them out to see if they are good to eat Phil

782g !!! That's over 100gms since his last weigh in, he is huge and getting scary I'm aware that he has a great set of teeth and sniffs my fingers while doing what I believe is happy chuntering, however the other day I disturbed him while asleep and he shuffled and gave some nasty sounding grunts as if to say "clear off" so I did Phil

When do you plan to repatriate him with the great outdoors? It sounds like he's getting fighting fit.

Well....I hope to get him to the Hedgehog rescue place so they can soft release him, probably the end of the month. I shall miss him but won't be sorry to see him go (in the nicest possible way) Phil

I think phil70 wants to keep the ability to count to ten manually.
