Around the time it happened I saw a report which suggested the driver was also arrested in connection with a similar incident a little earlier in the same area. I'm sure there will be more to follow.

Sounds like a 'lone wolf with mental issues' to me. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, eh?

What's good for the good is good for the gander, eh? What ? Surely that should be "what is good for the good is good for the bad".

What Ive heard seems as if there could have been 'history'..no doubt conjecture and hear say ..I will wait for the 'truth' which I am sure our noble press will get round to at some time...

What's good for the good is good for the gander, eh? What ? Surely that should be "what is good for the good is good for the bad". The expression is normally βwhatβs good for the goose is good for the ganderβ, but I donβt know why that is an appropriate phrase to quote in this thread.

As I recall the group of people were on the pavement, including the lad. The driver seemed to deliberately drive at them along the pavement so it does seem it was deliberate and not just careless / bad driving. What the reason behind it was, I donβt think we know.

"Essex Police said in a statement the Loughton man has also been arrested on six counts of attempted murder and one of causing death by dangerous driving. He also faces charges including causing serious injury by driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and driving without insurance." www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/12/03/pictured-victim-essex-deliberate-hit-and-run-named-driver-51/ One might have to go and look at Debden/Essex discussion groups to get an idea what this was all about.

Ah... this... "The suspect in the school hit-and-run that killed Harley Watson had been the subject of complaints to police for several years, it emerged yesterday. Neighbours of Terry Glover, 51, and parents of pupils said they told cops about him several times before Mondayβs tragedy." No readers comments allowed. Funny that. www.thesun.co.uk/news/10478190/cops-school-hit-run-warned/" Cops are being investigated over claims that they did not follow up the complaints. Essex Police referred itself to the police watchdog, the IOPC, over βprevious contactβ officers had had with Glover. One neighbour said: βHe has been reported to police before. If you get a lot of reports about the same person, you would think they would keep an eye on them. This could have been prevented.β "
