Definitely nowhere near a grand but then I guess they are quite desirable. I paid £450 for a Twinkle 10 in 1994. Really nice one. Sold later for £600 after I added a seagull outboard. That had shed loads of epoxy varnish which was a bit bad in a way. Porta bote look quite interesting yes, they plane with a 4 I think. Mind you they are incredibly ugly Seahopper is another one. I had one of them once as well. A bit tinny but quite amusing a bit like a Bickerton bike you're never quite sure if it is going to fold up when you don't want it to. So when are we making this hydroplane then ? What you mean 'we', white man? If you message me an email address I'll forward the plans.

She got a bit bored with me continuously explaining the minute details of my new dinghy cradle on the boat. Despite showing her a picture of it there was barely a flicker of interest so we just played with our phones for most of the evening. I really thought she would be impressed with this. Two old tyres, ratchet strap and a bit of rope. Dinghy can be craned in and out with outboard permanently attached. I was impressed anyway. Needs tidying though. But she wasn't. Not even turned on by the lovely little outboard motor. Oh well you can't win 'em all I'm not really quite sure what to think...looks interesting and boys toys can be mystery to women.. My dad had an assortment of strange engines and put together make do and mends as did his cousin... I used to love visiting dads cousin as there was always summit new and when dad sold all his treasures Jack rocked up with farmings answer to Last of the Summer wine with a 'converted tractor' they'd just finished cobbling together that morning....pure comedy gold..magic memory moments that I've since written up and put in a book complete with photos. I'll pass down to the grand children but wonder if any of them will inherit those genes and see it all for what it is.

This was my hydroplane. From about 1991. Bought it from a friend for £20. No idea why he had it in his garden as his was not riverside. I put a Chrysler 20 on it. Went like shit off a shovel but scared the hell out of me too much plus we had river police at that time (near Kingston on Thames). So it spent a lot of time on the bank. Partly also because the glue had gone and it was a sinker. My lovely little bitch in the background RIP 1989-2005

It's a cool boat I agree but I find it aesthetically displeasing. Functional is good.
At least it's not pink though to be fair.

Strangely enough another slightly silly boat I had 25 years ago might come back my way in slightly less shiny condition. This one 9ft "Spitfire" with a 25hp Selva outboard with the Chrysler hood on it. What a piece of shite outboard that was. Cool boat though. Another flyer. Damn police kept an eye on me though. Twice a day.

Maybe a problem with upl.co? They display on my phone but then they are my pics.

I can see the one with a hairy bloke in it now. Just sent an email with a pdf attachment so it might get flagged as spam or something. Another to follow in a minute or two.
