The NHS should supervise their staff. How did he get away with it for so long?

The most shocking thing is the number of people on canal boats who insist on having Harold Shipman beards.
It's just so infra dig !

You have deleted a post naughtyfox ... what happened ? I was thinking I should concentrate more on boating issues rather than Politics. It does seem rather hopeless in the UK nowadays. I expect the usual outcome - the Rich having their way. I like the idea of a National Health Service/System but I think it should be for the people of that country, those who are willing to work and those who provide some input, ie. by way of taxation - not a free for all from anyone from any other country - and that the staff should be properly trained and supervised, and not abused by such staff. Well, still, he's been caught - pity it took so long. I wonder what salary he was on and if he has to pay any of it back.

naughtyfox you clearly misunderstand the object of the UK state support system. Maybe naรฎvely you belรฎeve it is there to look after people who need looking after. No it isn't. It is there to look after people who don't need looking after Scam.

You delete your post which makes follow ups look slighty illogical ... whatever. People do bad things all the time ... through temptation, opportunity or simple badness. However the vast majority of us are not like that. Try to focus on the good we're all capable of and maybe your outlook may become more positive Rog

Yes and No. The NHS is abused, no doubt about that, but with proper supervision it could work pretty well. The abusers need to be rooted out and told in no uncertain terms to Fuck Off. With my socialist hat on I think a nationalised health service is an excellent concept, as important as a nationalised education system, and nationalised public transport. I find private doctors and medical services somewhat creepy - these are the people who can't hack it in the nationalised (and properly supervised!) service. Charlatans, quacks and 'chiropracters'.

Try to focus on the good we're all capable of and maybe your outlook may become more positive I do indeed sometimes reflect on the nice things humans do. But I do like to condemn those who do nasty things. You can't go through life in a Pollyanna approach all the time - sooner or later someone will stab you (as that Cambridge University chap found out!).

The NHS should supervise their staff. what? yet another level of administration that is entirely non-productive, in fact counter-productive because GPs will be required to attend training and assessment courses in a conference centre in Birmingham, staying at one of those 'orrible business hotels, twice a year, for a week at a time. It's the NHS, you plank, not Shell Petroleum International.

Ah - Shell - the company that clams up after their oil spills...
Supervision of doctors may prevent many of them from groping their patients - it is, after all, a National Health Service, not slaves for sale at a Moroccan bazaar.
