for obvious reasons at the end of my "anis horribles" (I'm sure some other old queen said something simliar) I'm totally ignoring Christmas... I'm hopping for some company in the form of next years new crew member but until he steps on board, I'm assuming and preparing for the worst. I've "done" 3 solo Christmas days thus far in my life... the best one was when I worked for the samaritans many, many moons ago. The day ended like a vicar of dibley scene with me having to wade my way through 3 plated xmas dinners neighbors brought round about tea time...
It IS ia horrible time and it does feel like you're being punished - silly really cause I know I'm not... it's just circumstantial. This year without the umbilical pull from mum, the run up has been torturous ...
I send my heartfelt support to anyone and everyone who's feeling lost this year... to those who are also spending their first festive season mumless I hope you can remember happier times and even when you're blubbing, come out the other side in one piece.
It's JUST one day - thank heavens for Gin xx

So much 'good will' is assumed and taken for granted working in retail ... glad I only do 12 weeks a year. There's some terrific people but I find the management is weak and haphazard. Rog My 40th is coming up in 2 and a bit weeks so maybe it's a good time to reevaluate where I am. Who knows, in a few months I could be eating yorkies and murdering prostitutes. You know it makes sense.

I am at Jaynes, her mum and stepdad are coming as always, we have a nice day a much miss understood word at times, we all enjoy ourselves including the dogs. Boxing day weather permitting its a big walk with dogs and maybe a pint at a pub when we get somewhere. At some point we will be at the boat so all will be well in my world. I hope that the ones that will be on their own swop phone numbers and have a chat and maybe a few drinkypoos. Love you all even Jim have a good one Merry Christmas

We are going on the boat after boxing day, we've got the whole tribe coming round on Boxing Day, around 20 of them, kids grandkids and a variety of partners and spouses. We'll drag them all away from their phones and out for a walk before feasting. Christmas day, if the weather is fit, we'll go out on our own for a walk with a Christmassy picnic.

A small flock of long tailed tits visit every day. They've just been and gone. Hmm, ortolan for Christmas lunch, French style, those long tails would make a handy handle for scoffing the bite sized chunk on the end. Merry Christmas all.

Not so much controlling them as I do manage to get them to settle on lead...daughter and son in law rarely have them on a lead..I do because I worry they will cause an accident. No its the fact I walk them and thats it....they r not mine therefor don't really relate to me. Nothing quite like your own pet.
