Lots of mentions lately of gin ... and I'm always happy to hear recommendations.
So to start the ball rolling, my favourite so far is Sir Robin of Locksley ... it's distilled in Sheffield so I may be biased.
It has all the layers of flavour of a good malt whisky ... really excellent.
Any good 'uns to suggest ?

Disgusting drink. Unless you are a back-street abortionist there's no excuse for giving it house room.

It's a drink for grown-ups Mr Stabby ... you wouldn't understand. Try and think of it as Special Brew for the discerning Rog

Theres a reason they dont sell special brew in denmark? Well, they sell Carlsberg Elephant in Denmark which is pretty much the same thing, but in any event I haven't bought Special Brew for ages, since they reduced the strength (again) and put the price up (again). Now I drink Perla Mocna which is a very agreeable Β£1.33 for a 3.8 units of alcohol can.

Hortus - smooth liqueur style. I love the rhubarb and ginger variety.
I was surprised to see on BBC Countryfile that many types of gin are basically vodka.

Jane's a fan of the Blood Orange Whitley Neil ... quite unique. The Manchester one Thomas Daykin's gin is very good. We tend to drink gin (if it's a good 'un) straight but for a single ice cube ... cheap and nasty gin with tonic as a long drink. Whisky is always drunk straight by me ianali Rog

Current fad for Gins is an affectation. An upmarket return to the Alcopops of the '90s.
I like a gin and tonic in the summer, but a whisky for the rest of the year.
