To be fair it would have got through if that girder hadn't been there.

Is it a real photo?
Usually there would be signage to indicate the height, presumably attached to the sewage pipe bridge rather than on the brick one.
That could have been quite nasty if the pipe had been ruptured.
Bit of a shitty situation.

Quite funny that google maps has automatically blocked out the height marker presumably as it has same text size as a reg plate. Maybe this contributes to the collision risk. People planning routes in advance using Street view would not know the height of the bridge.

As an ex agency driver its a bit of a nightmare driving lots of different lorries a month, I did some Tescos work each lorry had a sign giving the height of the vehicle in it, every load when handed over was accompanied with a route card telling drivers the exact route they must take, well my mate Keith was doing a route out to a Tescos he hadnt been to before so was trogging on when he saw the early low bridge sign he glanced at the dash saw he had plenty of room and ripped the roof of his trailer!!!! Such a shame that the trailer was one that they had to hire in and no one had thought to measure its height.................

There is a low bridge on the A5, a short walk from the Lime Kilnes pub on the Ashby canal, it even has sensors that flash big lights telling the driver he is not going to make it through.
I was moored there one night and popped out on the rear deck for a smoke and heard a loud crash and the huge fireball shot up the air, seems a truck full of bad shit hit it, sat there for a while watching it burn.
Was it you stabby?
