Thank you all, enjoying it so far
Went for a slow walk around a local town and brought a lens.
Were off for dinner later and then the boys are taking me to the former haslar military hospital for champagne in the padded cell

We did go for a meal which was nice to spend time as just the four of us. And then we went to the abandoned (awaiting development) Royal Military Hospital Haslar. The padded cell was built by the pocock brothers and is their last remaining cell in the country and is one of my favourite explores. The Royal Hospital Haslar. England's foremost and last Military hospital with the building completed in 1753 and originally a lunatic asylum, it was Europe's biggest brick building. during WWII it held a big part in the Normandy landings by treating casualties. To reflect it's naval history in 1953 it was renamed as the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar. In 2007 The hospital was handed over to NHS control which resulted with all the military medical staff marching out to claim their freedom of gosport. In 2009 all military services were transferred to the new MOD department at the newly built Queen Alexandra and any public services were ended resulting in the end of 254 years of military medical services at Royal Haslar. We have been in contact with historic England but they refuse to list it but finally the developers have agreed not to demolish it. So it was a dream and a privilege to have a few cold beers on my 40th birthday in the much loved cell

I bet John will be filled with nostalgia at the sight of the wonderful padded cell, I can almost hear him sighing " happy daze" as he brushes the cobwebs from his strange canvas jacket with many straps and buckles. Phil

Yeah. Exploring makes me happy and haslar is the top drawer explore.
Especially when it has security, cctv with night vision. Infra red type sensors, lots of walls and barbed wire topped fences.
Means the idiots stay out. But it gives you that little warm feeling when you get in. And nothing to do with being crazyπ
