The T-C & Brexit circus has been entertaining, but it seems to me that there have been no real changes, apart from the Pound having fallen over a cliff. When did you last look at the rate? 1.16 € 1.26 $US Both the above today's rates. Certainly they're both down from pre-Brexit of 1.26 and 1.34 but hardly 'fallen over a cliff' Ross is hyper after all the morning coffee !!! and Fang has to come out of the bag every now and again

We paid 1.40 Euros for 1 GBP in May. 1.40 to 1.11 (which it has been recently) is something like 30%. The Euro has also slid down against the US Dollar.
I'd say investing in Rare Earth Elements would be a safe bet, especially those which are used in wind turbines and computer hardware.

We paid 1.40 Euros for 1 GBP in May Yes, but it was only up at that rate for about a week. 1.28-ish was around the average. We transfer money to a Spanish bank regularly and I keep a pretty close eye on the rate.

I seem to have read, a while ago.

Will peterboat be making a bet on how long Donald Trump has to live? He seems to be awfully good at making some extra cash from this lark Trump could drop dead of a heart attack or stroke - he certainly looks like he has high blood pressure, and is old. He could be assassinated. If he snuffs it, does Hillary get in automatically as she's the Nation's next favourite? The T-C & Brexit circus has been entertaining, but it seems to me that there have been no real changes, apart from the Pound having fallen over a cliff. The only real changes you can make are by hassling your local politicians and exposing them for the frauds they usually are. I aint making no bets on this one Foxy. I think he will do his term and with his money and power I dont think he will be inpeached, its just more shit from the losers! a bit like the remoaners dont like the result so constantly whine about it

i doubt there are any rare earth metals in the new pound coin. It's being introduced because they reckon there are millions of fakes in circulation.

Thanks for the post on rare earth minerals. Following the mint link, it looks as though they are aiming to have the round pound coins out of circulation by autumn 2017.

There are, I reckon that at least one in ten £1 coins is fake. There are many ways to spot them but the dead giveaway is that a modern vending machine will reject them.

My guess is that your 1 in 10 is a gross under-estimation. Two quick checks you can make - the writing on the outside should be clean and (more importantly) centred. The two faces (head & tail) should point the same way up. I recently checked 15 coins that we had between us and 8 of them were forgeries.
