Removal of post is I believe a right, however it depends on how hard you wish to fight. Anyone who wants his addresses drop me a PM with your email address and I will let you have them. ETA Also you could advise him from the date of ban that a copyright fee of say £1 per post per month will be charged. Send that by special delivery and keep a copy of the rules and the signature strip on delivery MMMMMmmmmmmm £8800 per month - that would be nice, and, maybe an incentive for him to actually delete said posts.

Yep and don't forget there is also every quote of a post of yours. It could become a very good incentive

In a sort of revengeful way, it's attractive. ........... but I do feel it's a bit like burning books, whatever the reason, it just ...... shouldn't happen

Like all of these things telling is easy, you have to be prepared to take him to court at the right time. It needs to be enough to be worthwhile and that he can pay or has property which can be sold.

I think this situation only exists with heavy handed moderation who's main tool is the permanent ban. With gentle moderation people gradually and gently learn to mould their posts. With a ban there is a lack of control of the posts made and the liabilities still continue.

I've found the info there useful but would not join the forum as I know I'd eventually get banned (I hate over moderation). I'll start a few threads over the coming weeks in the new to boating area, hopefully people will share their knowledge rather than just direct me to CDWF - if I just get redirected then I'll go back to searching over there and lurking here.

As Canalworld is a 'family forum' and we have been reminded of this some times, I do wonder what the children make of it all. And I wonder if the naughty tykes have peeked into Thunderboat when their parents aren't looking.

I wouldn't think that children would find anything out of the ordinary about CWDF at all, . . . they are quite accustomed to being patronized or bossed about by schoolteachers every day of the week !

That's pretty ambitious for a guy who doesn't even have one official "Twat" yet!

I'll give you "Slime on a Stick" for free, forumidiot!
Honestly, who comes up with phrases like that?
