Ireland, particularly first half, looked more dangerous. Wales looked calamitous, until Patchell came on and really got the side moving. The nonsense of delaying squad selection is really shown up in my view. The game today wasn't of any real quality, so actually didn't help in selection at all. In addition, Gatland has little choice now but to go full strength next week to try and finish on a high ... but by so doing risks further injuries. I would prefer an English coach for England ... but I'm so pleased we don't have Gats. In fast Eddie we trust Rog

It was a good game I was almost beginning to believe Wales could do it. So glad they failed

Routine win 37 v 0 without being at full strength, or indeed playing particularly well ... no significant injuries too Looks like the squad's in a good position for the main event in two weeks time. Looking forward to the Japan RWC immensely now. Tomorrow's Ireland v Wales game will be interesting ... Ireland win at home I'd expect, but both teams at pretty much full strength so it may be a reasonable indicator of where they're both at. Scotland beat Georgia as expected. Good luck to all the home nations ... a northern hemisphere winner would be really good ... England winning would be gooderer Rog

Hell of a story and I understand some of the bitterness. However I have to agree with Kieran Bracken when he points out that ten years ago for players cheating ON THE PITCH for Quins, they were fined £260,000 and no points deduction. This penalty of 35 points and 5.6 million pounds seems over the top. I have read many articles over recent years regarding Mr Wray becoming a sleeping partner, or backer in senior players business set ups ... it's not been a secret. But Saints at the top of the league and Sarries pretty much stuffed ... could be a great season at Franklin's Garden @gazza Rog

Saints still top @gazza despite their first narrow loss.
The table, despite early days, is looking quite interesting if a little topsy turvy.

Rog Stumpys lot are well used to playing in a quagmire - we have the luxury of about the finest pitch in Englandshire, doesn't do much for having the edge in a mud fest though - Rodney Parade in the landl of the daft and Harlequins The Stoop are to other Soft to bottomless bogs I can think of 🤦♂️🏉👍🍻

Good to see you around on here Rog Harlequins have never really measured up to their championship winning year - despite having some damn good players, must be something to do with living in the shadow of HQ I guess???!! Leicester need to get cracking tomorrow.... Me? I'M like a bad smell - hard to shift 🙈

Just watching the English rugby team (subset thereof) on Jonathan Ross. They look very uncomfortable sitting next to Tom Allen. Seems their sexuality is fragile!

Saracens relegated at the end of the season !
How does that make any sense.
The club, and all others have to play out the season knowing the result already is ridiculous.
The drip feed of draconian punishments is ridiculous.
The damage to the league and the spine of England rugby is ridiculous.
If such level of punishment was required it should surely have been administered before the season started, when professional players had the opportunity to seek new clubs, not mid season when rosters are already fixed ... the club is the one being punished not the players.
I wonder if league and cup sponsors will consider walking away.
Harlequins were caught cheating ON THE FIELD and only sustained a financial penalty.

Sarries were punished for last seasons salary cap offence. This 35 point punishment is for this season so couldn't have been in place at the start of the season as they hadn't transgressed. On a positive note there is no cap in the lower divisions so they may well be able to keep their players and the players will still be available for England selection. They just have to sort the money out before the end of next season.

The players are guilty of nothing and risk serious injury whenever they take the field.
The league managers have managed to create a nonsense where players are supposed to take such risks all season, when results are a foregone conclusion (Sarries players and their opponents).
If this could have been handled in a worse way, I cannot imagine it.
