No I think its a narrow beam canal boat with a wheelhouse and a side profile which looks a bit like a barge. I don't think its dutch and pretty sure its not very old (maybe 80s or 90s) And I think it actually belongs to his grandfather

I really like Elizabeth 😀 Do you mean Jim Macdonald's Elizabeth? The one with the raised centre section on the cabin? Its a very interesting boat but not my thing really. He told me a few years ago about a very alarming experience when he lost all visibility due to fog while navigating the Trent (I think it was the Trent but not sure) and lost directional control of the boat due to the lack of visibility which resulted in a heavy side-on impact with a bridge. This caused significant structural damage to the boat * it had to be straightened out afterwards. Nasty.

I wouldn't want to own it but it's very pretty to look at (in my opinion).

My favourite boat is John knills ex boat Columba. Use to love it going past 15 odd years ago all rusty looking. A real classic looking boat

That's good I suppose - hopefully it will be well cared for. I always liked that luxurious tug foredeck on it. Very pleasant.

I've not been that way for a few years now. I think my old boat Tiger is near you currently with a bloke called Chris renting it off my cousin and her chap who bought it off me. Clue is its still green and has a RN DM2 in it.

Thinking about it I thought it had an 2 cyl Armstrong & siddley engine in it.

As I'm sure she was all a lime green type of colour when you had her, nice sounding boat thought. Spartan had a 3 cy Russell Newbury
