Added space to make link work Thanks for that now edited the original post. This one would be good for your around Britain sailing ambition, or has that been forgotten?

She could be a lovely boat I suspect the new sails will have cost a fortune, dont know about welding think a glass blast and two paint job would sort it out

I wonder what the draft is? The engine wouldn't be my first choice, but if it runs okay I'd leave it.

I am very sad to see this boat up for sale ........ It is a very important historic vessel, an iconic example of a brilliant bit of canal history. I sincerely hope that either a society will manage to purchase it or some dedicated individual who will save it for posterity www.alanpease.co.uk/boats/wheldale.html

I didn't realise they were built in Brentford !! EC Jones 1959. Same yard as Bantam push tugs. Adjacent to Thames lock Brentford now occupied by MSO Marine. I wonder how they got them down the North. I guess they were packed onto a coaster and shipped round. Intriguing. The machine room appears to be rather pleasant Is that a JP2 in there ?

The whole boat is in absolutely superb condition and lovingly cared for by the volunteers at the Goole Waterways Museum. (although does need a drydocking and a leaky shaft gland repair)
It was used regularly in the summer giving visitors trips round the docks ..... it was grand hearing the grumble of that Lister Blackstone as it went past.
The worry is that it will end up being split from the Jabus and Tom Puddings and converted ..... that would be another bit of heritage gone

That is interesting, depending on the condition it could be a cheap boat.
