I bought an old sabb 2G the FNR gearbox version with indirect cooling Β£350 in about 2007 put it in a 40ft narrow boat it was a great unit. No smoke it was like new just looked rough.
Proper marine engines built to do the job.
There is space to live in the boat if it is arranged correctly.
Depending on what you want.

How about a Seagull 75? Just your cup of tea.

I think this thing wants something with a slightly higher power output. And a thru prop exhaust.
It's small enough to fit in the working stern deck of the boat and should be liftable (90kg boat weight) with the derricks with O/B engine lifted separately .
Obviously it needs MI6 clearance but I can't see that being an issue given my 12/10 confidentiality level.

Promo video from the marginally larger "Seafire". They even claim it is a car roof transportable vessel using the specially designed launching trailer !!

Have you decided what outboard is going on the back of your Fairline yet?

That one is registered as electric so nothing exciting. Just a boring trolling motor and to keep up with Thames traditions it also now has a French name "La Poubelle". The lady on the licensing payment phone line had a little titter about that. Obviously she knew her french !
If I were to get this spitfire I would call it "La Petite Crotte".
For the sake of tradition.

'The Bin'? I sense an inauspicious career.
