How do you prevent all the previous quotes appearing when replying to someone using the quote button? I usually only want to show the person I'm answering, but the people they've answered appear as well, which can be very confusing to read.

I think you can highlight the previous quotes in their boxes then delete them, but there is probably an easier way

The answer is, reply using the quote button on the post itself rather than the quick reply form at the bottom of the page, then click "BB Code" below left of where you type, and then strip out everything from the second quoter's timestamp to the [ quote] code at the end of his post. (It's easier than it sounds) So in this post, both your and Saltysplashes' comments were originally visible, but I cut out his quote and timestamp and just left yours.

Yes it's fiddly though especially on a phone, it's the one thing about thunderboat that grates.

Let's say there are 2 comments quoted. I wipe (paint + cut) the words from the second posting and then use the 'back' button once to get rid of their avatar. Then cursor to last bit of first person's post and press 'delete' once to remove the box of the second posting. That is WAY too difficult for a man in my condition!

And PLEASE can we move the quote button to the bottom right? I can't remember why I'd like that, or where I got the idea from, but it is causing me to post twice. It is causing me to post twice!

It's different from other forums where the default is to quote only the person you are answering.

Okay, it worked. Now the quotes within quotes shouldn't show up, you will just see the person you quoted's post. Should tidy things up a bit.
