Yeah all good. I picked the boat up from Gayton Marina last Sunday with the aim of getting through the Rothersthorpe flight before the stappages. Lock number 6, one of the stoppages was a right barsteward, 2" gap on the bottom gates, I managed to find a long piece of 4" * 2" which fitted nicely between the gates and stem the loss of water. Onto Billing for the night, which was a good move as I had a hunch the eng battery was fecked, it was. So Gayton turned up the next morning with a new battery. The rest of the trip was a breeze, 2 1/2 days on the Nene and not one moving boat! My own playground to myself. Stopped at my favourite water hole , The Globe at Upwell on the middle level. Last night was spent at the Jenny arms, Denver sluice, not really a boozer but had a cracking Steak! Drive home Saturday and inspected a fellow Thunderboaters boat, no JD Honey, but a nice glass of red and a good natter. 😀
