I think this was started by my suggesting at CWDF that a sticky on the care and feeding of batteries would be a good idea. I had no idea it would lead to any controversy or I would end up here. I still think many newcomers would find a locked sticky by an expert on the basics of battery care useful and might reduce the number of time the experts have to answer the same basic questions.

Top Cat You are probably right, however the longer I have been here and the more that happens, ......... the more I realise how byzantine is the management of CWDF.

They do tie themselves in knots with their ever burgeoning "rules and guidelines" (plus the ones they make up on the hoof) and get all stressed about it. Calm down dear, it's only an Internet forum! Anyway it seems my 2 week suspension is up and I'm no longer banned. Should I go back?

I know the two tones offer their excellent advice over there. Unless more people can be persuaded over here, over there seems to be the go to forum for new people. Good luck with your decision

... it seems my 2 week suspension is up and I'm no longer banned. Should I go back? What, and spoil graham geo's fun as the only resident expert?

The worry is, if all you electrical experts stop posting over there, a lot of questions may go unanswered, unless people can find there way over here.

The worry is, if all you electrical experts stop posting over there, a lot of questions may go unanswered, unless people can find there way over here. I have been pondering on this myself, One of the problems that comes with being the first port of call for new boaters is that you get all the lazy ones as well .... by that I mean that even when the information is freely available to search out, some still seem unable to follow the instructions to the thread and ask the same damn stupid questions over and over. We obviously have the freedom here to be as acerbic as we wish when presented with a stupid question where the answer is in plain site in a pegged article. On the other hand, as you say, this is probably the best fund of knowledge on technical/legal subjects available, so it would be a shame if newbies were deprived
