Are tampons any good? I mean, you can drop them down the hole, and they have a handy string with which you can pull them back up. A bit like ice-fishing. "Excuse me Mr Chemist, could I have a gross of extra large tampns please?" "A gross?" "They're for my bilge" "Heard it called a lot of things..."

Customer- "Helllooo, I would like to buy some deodorant" Chemist- "Ball or aerosol?" Customer- "Neither, it's for my armpits".

Thanks for all the replies. I am down to cloths now the sponge took out about 8 gallons and i have had a dehumidifier running for a week. I fixed the water pump by fitting a new diaphragm, so hopefully this was the only thing filling the boat. I honestly don't think the original owners knew it was happening.
