Fountains contractors are here cutting the grass? Am I wrong, I thought you don't have to cut grass in winter?

I've cut ours on Boxing Day before now. It was the first dry enough day to do so.

Same here, thrash it with the mower if its dry enough and long enough to need it. I mowed ours last Sunday.
Like Tony Iv'e mowed over the Christmas period - not on Boxing day though!

Rain and awful weather forecast here tomorrow and i wanna cut grass.. I have a problem..have one of those petrol mowers that you have to haul at a rope thingy to start..well it don't ever start first time or 2nd or...... I have to leave it and go back and the damper the days are the more of a pig it is to start...ATM I have the mower wrapped up in blankets and a carpet to try and keep the chill away from its sensitive parts..I paid for a service last year and made no difference ... so qu...... will that sure start stuff help and where shall I spray it? Will WD40 help and where shall I spray it? Lawn to big for electric with my dodgy handling skills... I hates zee grass..Well when it needs cutting I do...now and again the thought passes through my mind that a man would be useful in my life but its only ever a temporary affliction and following large glass Merlot I recover.

When you have finished cutting the grass turn the fuel tap off and let it run until it conks out. When you need it again open the fuel tap wait a minute for the carb to fill and Bob's your uncle. Many small engines hate being left with a float bowl full of petrol.

Nothing personal Mr Kris, but my year seems to be constantly punctuated by people pointing out that grass hasn't been cut, and ought to be, or grass is being cut, and didn't ought to be. I appreciate you didn't qualify your observation, but I feel we should just relax and let Fountains do their job. Rog

Often a sign like a fuel can and an arrow next to the lever for the tap.
