I sat in a crowded, darkened room in June 1953 to watch the Queens coronation I'll be watching tomorrow at least parts of her funeral Me too John, thanks to my wealthy grandfather who owned a 12 inch Bush or was it Pye?

I got my first payment of the £600 odd this week. It’ll help towards my coal this winter. How can we apply/qualify for that kris? As an off-grid liveaboard now paying 160p for the fuel I was paying 88p for in January to provide my electricity and wondering how very much the cost of coal to heat my boat for the next six months is likely to have gone up I am becoming concerned for a lot of people out here. Just checked my pension forecast last night and it has now moved forward by yet another year. Are you a WASPI ?

Here we go again with the "You're only as old as you feel" tripe, and "My mother is 92 years old and still drives" nonsense. Not to mention Old Badger claiming he drives in cruise control along the busy A40 in London. TB should have a Fossils' Corner section where the Ancient Mariners and The Cardy Knitters can rabbit on about their hip operations and cataracts. Remember to turn your hearing aids on and put your teeth in. your one of the retired people remember? He is old and probably suffering from failing memory

Never fear brave unStable Bar stalwarts, the nights are drawing in as we speak and I can feel an adventure approaching,so watch out for indelible pencils rampant felines and canines and of course my good mate in his strange canvas jacket not forgetting the Lemonchello swigging time travelling mechanic

Good to see you around too phil70 ... you've been very quiet of late. Hope all's well in your world ? Rog Sadly for me being sans boat I now have a new "master" and Chris has charged me with keeping the garden alive in the face of this extreme weather. So just easing back into things and need to get back in touch with JohnV, and of course Met

Couldn't agree more, it's a pity that Chris's solution of get a F off big gun and blow him away would be very hard to achieve given the level of security round Putin

Blimey, I thought I was an early bird !!!
changed trailers over now, off with the watertank to get 250 litres of water.
(I'll try and get another run in later on, which should see the tanks on both boats full)
lovely sunny morning enjoy...I would like to cast adrift and leave solid earth for the wafting ripples of a blue expanse of water, be it river, canal or sea. I've stayed at daughters 'dog minding'.. Freya, Luna and the 'incontinent pooing machine, Zara' who went off her legs again last night Grand daughter appeared having decided that home sweet home was the best and that she'd stay here and not with t'other Nana. Her 'my dad always supports her back end as she goes up the stairs' met with a 'nope, that's not happening' so the old dog has pooed her way from front to back door with her legs slowly splaying out . I slept on the sofa until face wash by both Luna and Freya at 5am. As we were also up several hours from midnight, I am shattered. I think they may see this is a trial run for their long trip away... if so theres a meaningful discussion pending..... Freya is sitting by the front door... obv I'm not going to be allowed to sneak home without her! Poor Zara, it's horrible when dog goes off their legs, it happened to Maisie our cocker, I had to hold her back end while she took care of business, sadly because she was blind and deaf this was the final straw because we felt she had no quality of life left. I took her to the vet who agreed that it was Rainbow Bridge time. She passed peacefully chomping on Gravy bones while quietly going to sleep, a happy passing for her as she knew I was there because she could smell me and feel my arms around her while feeding her with her favourite treat

all we've had is rain then it stops then it starts again... Huh, you are lucky, all we get is sun and wind with so much "Fen Blow" that makes Saharan dust seem like a doddle. Will be grateful when the farmers cease all the discing and harrowing that produce Fen Blow
