If there is a re-trial, and he is acquitted, then the complainants should be identified. It is often said that the reason men accused of rape are not entitled to anonymity is that publicity may bring forward more victims. For the same reason, women who falsely accuse men of rape should be identified.

Let's hope that if the retrial finds him not guilty that he will receive compensation that reflects that a significant part of his career was destroyed by a false allegation; and that he will find a club who will judge him on his talents alone; as they would any other footballer. Well of course we don't actually know the allegation is actually false do we? it would seem some new evidence has come to light that is all. if the allegation was known to be false he wouldn't be facing a re trial.

Assuming a not guilty at the retrial, just how realistic are his chances of returning to football Probably none. The mainstream media have used the term "convicted rapist Ched Evans" so many times now that it has burnt in to the national consciousness, and regardless of today's decision, or the result of any future trial, nobody will employ a "convicted rapist". His reputation and livelihood have been destroyed by an unproven accusation.

Assuming a not guilty at the retrial, just how realistic are his chances of returning to football I would say high. Depending on his form of course.

I am not too sure because he won't be a convicted rapist by then and dependent what this new evidence amounts to it may alter opinion

You can just see the centre spread now,him the girlfriend and the kid,and some headline " Our years of Hell " which by the way I have no problem with, but you just Marvel how the Media go from one extreme to another.

You can't un-ring a bell.

Hopefully Jessica Ennis Hill will accept a stand at Bramhall Lane being named after her without conditions. Assuming of course that there isn't a future guilty verdict.
