fnar fnar its serious question, what criterion do you use to define it. Is it a not guilty verdict? By the definition of wikipedia the victims of Jimmy Saville would have been charged as the police had the reports but didnt charge him. So I repeat how do you define a false allegation of rape in this context. A great question because it can be easier to define in some situations than others
I just had a quick look at the cps guidelines, it was a large document it seems you will be charged with either:- Perverting the Course of Justice or Wasting Police Time contrary to section 5(2) of the Criminal Law Act 1967
The following statements have to apply It is suggested that their allegation is false; They have retracted their allegation; or They have withdrawn a retraction ["double retraction"]. there is a lot of other guidelines like it had to be a definite claim of rape and not I might of been etc etc etc. I don't think a lot of people are charged with it unless its very clear cut. I guess the bar they use is very high.

I see Ched Evans has had his date for a retrial confirmed earlier, its October the 4th and is expected to last two weeks. He also has had the Trial moved fro Mold to Cardiff. I can't help but get the feeling a lot of people are going to have egg on their faces when this is over, especially some Media Personalities. What are his realistic chances of resuming his career, and also is there a claim there for loss of earnings?
