Kris, I am not sure how to say this nicely so apologies if it sound bad etc it is not meant to be. it doesn't sound bad, it just makes you sound very judgemental. As you have no idea what else myself or any of the other posters to the thread have done are doing about current situation on the waterways. No I am not being judgemental, but if you are serious I would have expected to read about it in the boating press and on the boating forums and see something like a petition to government. I have not. To bring pressure on CRT it has to be organised not the odd person pontificating about what they see is wrong.

Isn't it judgemental to say someone sounds judgemental? Lol. Oops, now I'm being judgemental... Yes he was being judgement against someone offering support and even money. I think there are some very soft skins on here. Yet the soft skins who revel in give it but scream like banshees when it is returned,

So, back on topic, CRT are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, with a set of Memorandum and articles that lay out the areas of benefit, how they must spend £ etc. The Board of Trustees is there to ensure that these are adhered to by the delivering staff. The CEO is just one of their staff. The Charity commission ensures that the Trustees do their job. Not sure where the waterways ombudsman comes in to all this. So, if one is not happy with the actions of CRT, wasting money etc, perhaps one should complain in writing to the Board and to the Charity Commission, maybe the ombudsman too. If the current s8 challenge cases etc prove that CRT is wasting money, acting outside their remit, perhaps this is the way to go.
Re BWML, I suspect that they were set up as a trading wing of BW/CRT, any profit they make goes to CRT.
