My friend's neighbour has built a garden shed, with a dead flat roof, out of MDF. The mind boggles...

It would be worth setting up a time lapse camera for that.

Well, it's not going to be an ever lasting shed, but if he used "Hydrofuge MDF", it may last several years, and possibly even longer.

The way he has the trim on the door end on top of the roofing should ensure that that side will be the first to go.

See if you can get an inside pic. I would love to see how it's all held together.

D9, we definitely need a time lapse series for that.
Reminds me of watching a neighbour spending all weekend cladding a greenhouse frame with thin polythene which he was welding together with some machine he must have borrowed from work (this was many, many years ago). The following day was a bit windy. That night all he had left was a few polythene flags flapping off some sticks. A month later he put up a proper glazed one.

There was a boat moored near me the other day and I think they were burning MDF in their fire.
What a god-awful smell it made. Gordon Bennett. I could hardly fekkin breathe.
There is something called Masonite which I think is an MDF type product used to put an outer skin on narrow boat cabins. This leads me to believe that it might actually be OK for a shed if used correctly. Not sure if I have the right end of the stick about the Masonite. I often get the wrond end...
For avoidance of doubt - I hate MDF.

If it is meant to be dry inside it might be better to use Ceiling Wax
