I wish people would let the dead (threads) lie There could be, say, a 3-month period for threads, after which they go to the 'archives' - comments could still be added to those threads but they would remain in the confines of the archives. If the title of those archived threads wishes to raise its head again, then someone simply need start a new thread with the same title (perhaps stating 'thread 2' on it). I wonder how long all of this information on here will be preserved for? 5 years, 50 years, 100 years - 10,000 years? Can you see our grandchildren's grandchildren reading through them? I like to leave a tidy trail so am always trying to delete (or sweep under the carpet) things I have done that are redundant - before the end of this year I shall be sifting through my Google Photos account and deleting albums that I now consider worthless, so some of the links here on Thunderboat on my older postings will lead to nothing. Same with all the photos from my camera on this computer - I send them off to a company that turns them into prints. It's very rare that anyone wants to look at holiday photos you stuck on your computer 10 years ago.

Whereas I agree that this thread would have been better dying a natural death Delta could change the title, of course, to 'Mike the Boilerman'. He could delete it entirely - but then 50% would moan about freedom of speech, etc.

I am with you on this one Rog. Yet you are happy to post in the 'Tomsk is n argumentative fuckwit' thread mocking Kris's poo collection... I wasn't mocking Kris's poo collection, if you look at my latest post on that thread you will see that my post was tongue in cheek, but you must admit his toilet arrangements are not for everyone.

Those offended by this post, you could of course stop posting and drawing attention to it? (Or is that too simple).

What I find interesting about this thread is, It was a product of the circumstances that brought about the birth of Thunderboat and while some wish to remove themselves from the sentiments of the thread, it is actually only the title that is the objectionable part. The discussion within the thread pings back and forth between the haters and the non haters. While some give him bad press others give him rather good press so I see it as actually a well balenced thread with classic examples of moderation by the members causing the thread to die naturally.......till its resurection of course.
The best part is of course that Mtb has the right to reply
