I don't know if Donald Trump will make a good or bad president, but I consider Bush Sr and Bush Jr to be two horrific war criminals who are responsible for the deaths of millions, and Obama to be a spineless career politician too cowardly to change direction. I'm prepared to wait and see before passing judgment on Trump's term.

I thought it was a great insight to the future, and Brown, but who knows.

Latest News:
"President-elect Donald Trump tried to put a lid on chants of 'lock her up!' from a lively Michigan crowd that piped up at the latest stop on his 'thank you' tour.
'No, forget it,' Trump told the crowd, trying to cut it off. 'That plays great before the election. Nah, we don't care,' he told the Grand Rapids crowd. "
Typical politician - lying through his teeth. Having heard him talk I thought "What a thickie" and the above shows him to be a liar and giving the middle finger to his supporters who wanted Hillary chucked in prison for being a traitor. Next he'll be saying 'Make America Great Again' was a just a joke, and "Buy My Hats - They're Made in Guatemala".
(ps - I agree with Iconoclast's post above)

Yes and no ..... it hasn't been debunked because both are a theories. This is the problem with popularisation .... there is no definitive answer .... we simply do not have all the facts. It is a fact that the maunder minimum coincided with a mini ice age If we are entering another minimum will it coincide with another ice age ...... we don't know. Was the ice age that coincided with the Maunder minimum caused by volcanism ...... we don't know There are far more things concerning the climate that we don't know than we do. Another theory is that global warming will reduce or stop the Gulf stream, triggering a catastrophic downturn in the temperatures in the Arctic causing an expansion of the arctic ice cap while simultaneously reducing the southern ice cap (it is a fact that the present situation with an ice cap at each pole is not a situation that seems to have been prevalent in pre-history)

Yes, I agree. But the newspapers are spreading stories about the ice-age. Even the author of the paper did not connect sunspot activity to climate until after the media had contacted her. The consensus seems to be that any change will not be enough to put a brake on the warming.

The consensus seems to be that any change will not be enough to put a brake on the warming. but you then get the question ...... if it wasn't getting warmer with our assistance ...... would it be getting colder. My fear is that once politics get involved, flexibility is gone because politicians egos are involved. This means anyone suggesting the possibility the theory was wrong, will be shut up by any means possible. It's bad enough getting scientists to admit their pet theory might be wrong, but most eventually accept it if the evidence is strong enough. ...... Politicians however, are a different animal

you could interpret that in so many ways that it doesn't really mean very much.
................. each to his own inference.

The Global Warming theory has become like a smug religion, and any dissidents are swiftly punished. Although I think the majority of it is true, I do not feel confident I'm being told the whole story, and am even less confident about our actions to stop it. Are they just tokenism? I additionally feel that it is pointless to cut back on emissions etc, when we are still happy to go to war - what a waste of global resources that is! What's the point in fretting about miles per gallon when whole cities or oil fields are laid to waste?

Things will get warmer when the Andromeda Galaxy merges with our own Milky Way, will have some interesting sunsets then with stars and planets flying past us at 259,000km/hour. Or our own Sun may just suddenly explode and we won't know for 8 minutes. We could have just 4 minutes left as I writeth.

I hate people who drive all round town wasting a litre of petrol because it's 1p cheaper at a certain petrol station.

There's a clue to how seriously politicians really take it. The latest agreement world politicians were congratulating themselves on excludes industry and business both of which are surely most responsible (if it exists). It seems to me they just agreed another excuse to fleece their populations with more green taxes.
