Why not just STFU, mr oh-so-clever... I wondered how long it would take my Thunderboat stalker to turn up. Oh do fuck off... You do have an arrogant view of yourself, I actually have you on ignore but every so often someone quotes your idiotic ramblings.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. Clearly the expressions cause offence. They are offensive terms. Well, I'm sorry but I'm known here as "Captain Mong" and that won't be getting changed for you.

So if you have him on ignore why do you have the need to engage him when someone else quotes him... sort of defeats your idea of ignoring doesn't it?

Your continued use of such terms, in the face of obvious objections, says more about you than about anyone else. But that's self moderation for you. Rog

Delta9 may not have posted in this thread but his post on another thread using Mong as an insult (and yes I did try to question the interpretation of the word) was a significant factor in me deleting me. He referred to me as a mong. Nobody else, and certainly nobody in your family. We are now on the cusp of 2016/2017 and "mong" has not been a word used to describe somebody with a physical or mental disability for nearly 50 years now. It's sole meaning nowadays is to describe somebody who the writer considers to be stupid. If you are that prissy and easily offended, can I respectfully suggest that you fuck off back to CWDF?

I hope Forum Idiot stays. You shouldn't let stuff like this bother you, just plough your own furrow. Like marriage, it takes years to get to know someone. Today's News is tomorrow's fish-&-chips wrapping, and suchforth.
I am a sensitive and shy soul (it's true), but I can switch off and take all kinds of nastiness and shock-horror stuff. When our beloved cat snuffs it (he's 17) I shall have to arrange his grave in our back garden. We could have him stuffed and as a mascot in the cratch window, that's a thought.
Just skip the distasteful bits here. It's like reading a book you just can't get on with - nothing to stop you lobbing it on the fire and shouting "Katie Price your ghost writer is a talentless ****!"
Thunderboat is what YOU make it. It is by far much funnier and flexible and wacky and interesting than any other waterways-related sites.

You're being a bit of a bellend. My mate has an autistic lad and hates both those terms. The bottom line is that if Delta 9 chooses to refer to ME PERSONALLY as a mong, then there is only one person entitled to be offended by that, and that's me. And if I'm not, then I don't need anybody else to be offended on my behalf. I can understand where you are coming from, the word has no personal connotations for me personally either and if I was called it .... it would be water off a ducks back. However surely but must be able to see, that others, under certain circumstances can be hurt by it ...... they are not being offended for you but are being upset by a term that has hurt or offended someone dear to them. they feel echoes of that hurt. It is for that reason I try to avoid such terms (not always successfully, I admit) Anyway there are plenty of other juicier terms of abuse that I can think of Sorry about that ...... late post ............ all been said. ................. I must learn to read to the last page before posting. I must learn to read to the last page before posting. I must ...........................................................

But, easy come easy go. Basing your right to be insensitive on "Delta said it first" is fine with me, I'm in favour of giving people the freedom to express themselves, how else do we find out what each other are really like?

My personal view on this is that I can't see any reason for calling other people (forum members-now ex-forum members) names, or saying things to them using words- and expressions of which they explained that they hurt them, without them ever having used words in your direction to personally hurt you.
It's very much like having been kicked in the balls one day by someone nasty, and because of that you think that that entitles you now to kick everyone you meet (even complete strangers that never did anything to upset you)in the balls, only because someone did it to you.
I think that that's rather strange, and doesn't sound like a logical way of reasoning.
Peter.

Well my take on it is the site owner called the shitstirring cockwomble a mong during a heated discussion. Said cockwomble decided to adopt the nickname...why is anyone's idea??
Ex member decides to take offence at said nickname due to personal reasons and flounces.
Cockwomble basically says to everyone ' if you don't like it fuck off to 'WWW. FLUFFYBUNNIES. COM' or see/ complain to site owner'
Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Your surmises of kicking in the balls yadda yadda is TBH, complete bollox...that's my take on it all!👍
