Gardner 4lw for sale www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122289696811 Seems a bit exspensive especially as he doesn't say if it's a runner or not. I'm not sure if it's a "marine" version there's no raised hand start. I don't reconise the gearbox either.

You can ask questions on ebay to the seller. The questions and answers are for all to read.

... The questions and answers are for all to read. Only if the seller makes the question public.

Go and ask, kris - if the seller doesn't make questions and answers public, we'll know something's fishy.

I can't be bothered Ross, I'm not really in the market for a 4lw at the moment. I just posted it out of interest. I really do think the seller could post some better pictures if they want to sell it.

As I say if I was interested in buying it I would get in touch with him, but as I'm not I wont.

thats interesting "twin disc" are supposed to be good boxes. They definitely are good boxes, I've had quite a few fitted behind the engines of my barges, some mechanical but mostly hydraulic, never any problems.
Peter.

No sane person would fit a 75 HP engine in a narrow boat.

No sane person would fit a 75 HP engine in a narrow boat. Two months late but the most pertinent post in the thread, however tardy

No sane person would fit a 75 HP engine in a narrow boat. Not all the posters here have skinny boats
