Yeah! have watched the sopranos, the wire and the shield many times and love that stuff. As for films,as long as its a decent film dont really mind what genre but dont really go for the superhero/action kinda stuff.

If you enjoyed Das Boot, it's well worth hunting out the full length uncut DVD. It has a running time of nearly six hours so it takes a couple of sessions to watch, but there is a lot more plot development than in the standard two-hour film or the three-hour Director's Cut. www.amazon.co.uk/Das-Boot-Mini-Uncut-Version/dp/B0001NIYUO

Have you watched The Simpsons, Family Guy etc? These are cartoons with a lot of intelligent and adult humour? Some great films on DVD are... Casablanca African Queen Godfather and Godfather II but not Godfather III 2001 Space Odyssey The Triplets of Belleville (animation) The Music Lovers ( some scenes of a sexual nature) Clockwork Orange (violent) Straw Dogs, (violent) Kes The Long Good Friday Billy Elliott Here's a great list of films www.imdb.com/chart/topI love their No1 choice! Many of my above suggestions are there.

There was a good (in my opinion) TV series where at the end they had orders to go to Vigo and, after having survived thus, many died at the harbour being attacked by planes. Is this it? I expect Cheryl, farting at the tattoo parlour, hasn't a clue what life used to be like 73 years ago. ps - I find the Simpsons vs Family Guy a bit like Canalworld vs Thunderboat. One is much spicier than the other! Although I do like Itchy & Scratchy from The Simpsons.

Yes, the boat and crew were strafed by allied aircraft as they disembarked at La Rochelle, just as it seemed their ordeal was finally over. The final scene is the Kaleun keeling over and dying as he watches his boat disappear beneath the water. It's the classic anti-war war film. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_Boot
