Especially of course if your fishing for a reaction, because your board and looking for some sport. And this is exactly the sort of thing I mean. No engagement with the point of discussion, just a personal attack on the poster. Thanks for the illustration.

I accept that what you claim does happen.
The danger (and slight annoyance) is when the claim is waved like the sword of Damocles, against any dissenting voice, and opposing views dismissed with a blanket sweep.
Both are discussion forums.
CWDF should consider adding the rider "provided you agree with us".

Rog Yes I agree that bad debating practice can be applied by both sides, but more often (and statistically unsurprisingly) it comes from the mainstream side.

Actually, it's slightly more complicated than that, when I was actually banned, i.e. had my account deleted, I had not posted on CWDF for over three months but had my account deleted, along with several other members, because I was a member of Thunderboat. Yes there was a time lag, but I think you had got yourself onto the hate list for your (allegedly) racist views, and once the momentum for a mass banning gained traction, pack courage won out, you were a gonner. the official crime for me was apparently "fomenting dissent on the forum" which I presume is moderatoreze for disagreeing and arguing against Dan's way

Prior to cwdf I used to frequent the Dawncraft owners forum. It was great for a while, then declined fairly rapidly. There was a spat over ” I can post any video I want even if it's copyright" and a key member/character left. It got boring. Such is Life.

they're having mutual admiration moment again over there, with some of them slagging off this place - seems many of them are just too precious for the real world.

How exactly is that different from what's happening on here, in reverse? For clarity I'm not defending the place I just think it's a bit daft to mention something that is going on there when exactly the same goes on here.

Perhaps its time the CWDF subsection were removed or moved to a less prominent position on the board to reduce the probability of discussion about it?
Sort of like a "coming of age" thing.

I no longer see the two sites as being in competition.
Comments will crop up about posts over there, but comments are equally passed on items in the news, on facebook, sports pages etc etc.
Let's be honest, we all got here because of, or due to CWDF in one way or another.

Rog The difference is CWDF doesn't have a specific 'Thunderboat' section to discuss posts on here. having a CWDF section on here makes this forum look as if it somehow depends on the existence of CWDF, when it doesn't really.

Fair comment.
However the most recent discussion on CWDF regarding here, centred on the post by Foxy regarding the atrocity in Sweden.
I would be happy to see the section removed.
What does Delta9 think?
