Ok lets have another side track...... Brie spread on toast wif coleslaw topping...yummy... Come on, everyone knows this; French Brie should be served with Danish bacon and Cranberry Sauce made in Ireland, all wrapped in an Italian Panini and heated by a machine made in China. Washed down with a deep red wine from S. America whilst sitting in a great British pub, laughing at the canal boat that has picked up a mattress. Perfik !

Aaaah but I prefer Somerset Brie served with crispy streaky bacon from Wiltshire wrapped in a sourdough roll heated over a charcoal barbecue served with Damson cheese from Tiptree (Essex)

How exactly is that different from what's happening on here, in reverse? For clarity I'm not defending the place I just think it's a bit daft to mention something that is going on there when exactly the same goes on here. so ................. I'm a bit daft. so fucking what? do you wish to shine by comparison. P.S. is your 'van one of those polished chrome plated jobbies towed by a scrap dealer's transit pick-up?? So unable to respond in a coherent manner to the actual question I asked you thought you'd wheel out a lame caravan 'joke'. Dear me.

Unfortunately I have to concede people would have thought that when we were driving around the top of Loch Lomond yesterday, it's a very tight and windy section of the A82 no where to do my normal thing of pulling in to let them pass so I did get a bit of a queue behind me I'm afraid, sod all I could do about it. Of course when I did I did actually manage to pull I get my first act of courtesy from the other drivers who signalled 'thanks' with their indicators. Maybe some people just carry on regardless, I do not.

Having a tiny caravan, Freedom Prima Jetstream, I get stuck behind big caravans and 4x4s, Rover drivers in flat caps, motorway middle lane hoggers. It doesn't slow me down much at all. You may have seen a Jetstream slung below a balloon on Top Gear a few years back.

You may have seen a Jetstream slung below a balloon on Top Gear a few years back. I have no problem accelerating up to and keeping up with the speed limit normally despite the size of our outfit. It was just that section where it narrowed right down, meeting a 'van coming the other way or indeed a motorhome was a challenge for sure. Some people of course dont realise we are subject to a lower speed limit than solo vehicles so if they want us to go faster than 50mph (on a single carriageway) I would suggest they lobby the government for higher limits for vehicles towing trailers. On a dual carriageway it shouldn't bother anybody that we are restricted to 60mph because there is plenty of room to get past.

I'm firmly of the belief that if you really MUST have a caravan it should be purely functional and as small as possible OR huge and vulgar/semi-static. That's all I have.
